Whether you are just starting out doing your family research or have been at it for a while, there are a number of places you can go in our local area to research. Here are a few of the more popular sites with a large repository of information:

Holdings: the largest
source of worldwide information in our area.
They have converted to computers and have many genealogy
resource programs. They also have a library of books from many states and
counties. They offer ongoing workshops
on a variety of topics, ie. German research, beginning genealogy, Afro-American

This collection is located in the California State Archives,
4th floor.
It is easily
accessible as the rt train stops in front of the Archives.
Holdings: Worldwide. Most information is
located in books. Limited computer
