New Genealogical Room Opens in Carnegie Museum (article)

The SCR Roseville Genealogy group will not meet in July. 
The next meeting will be Wednesday August 6 in the Cedar Room at 1:00.

After several years of trying to locate a permanent home for their library of almost 700 volumes, the Roseville Genealogical Society, with the help of hte Roseville Public Library, has signed a joint agreement with the cityof Roseville to occupy a lower room in the Carnegie Museum at 557 Lincoln St. in Roseville.

With current membership of 121 members, the society plans to conduct small genealogy classes. Docents will assist visitors with understandnig diffferent methods and requirements of sound genealogical research. Genealogical forms will be available for sale.

Beginning Monday (June 2), the genealogy room will be open from noon to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday hours will be added later.

The society encourages the public to drop by and browse their book collection. Books cannot be checked out at this time and must be used in the genealogy room.

The genealogy room is most easily accessed by the rear entrance on Pleasant Street.
